Sandless refinishing

Sandless Refinishing (also called buff & recoat) is a hassle free alternative to sanding and refinishing solid and engineered wood floors. This process is a maintenance or sprucing up procedure for floors that have not yet worn to the point of needing a full sand & refinish. Buff and recoat can be done in just a couple of hours. Businesses love this process because we can come in at closing and have the floors dried for opening the next morning.

This service is provided often in schools, churches, sport and gym floors, retail, commercial spaces, restaurants and more.

The buff & recoat process involves buffing the floors to remove surface scuffs and scratches.

Bespoak Hardwoods uses state-of-the-art floor buffers that hook right up to a vacuum system. This makes the buffing process virtually dust free.

After the floor has been buffed and thoroughly cleaned, we apply a coating of an odorless, fast drying, fast curing & extremely durable Loba®, Bona® or Basic Coatings® floor finish. Choose between oil and water-based finish; available in matte, satin, semi-gloss, and gloss sheens. Additional coatings are available.  We also offer sandless refinishing to floors finished with hard wax finishes.

Please note: The buff and recoat procedure will not remove scratches, dents, or dings that have penetrated the top layer of finish. Generally floors that have not had much attention in 7 years or more will not be able to get away with this process. Also, floors that are discolored, or have areas that the finish has completely worn off can not be recoated

After much trial and error- and testing many different dyes and tints – we have finally found the formula that allows us to slightly change the coloring of your floors with our sandless refinishing process. These slight changes in tone are not quite as drastic of a change as staining your floors. However, we are able to achieve slightly different tones. We are able to do this on any type of wood, including prefinished, site finished, and engineered. We are happy to make you some samples to show you the possibilities. We are still able to do the sandless procedure on most jobs in a single day when tinting.
